COVID-19 (no.10)

May 29, 2020 at 11 a.m., Vaudreuil-Dorion – Following a meeting yesterday with Gymnastics Quebec, we are unfortunately unable to announce a date for resumption.

As you may have noticed in the deconfinement plan announced by the Quebec government earlier this week, the “gymnasiums” are in the later phases. The various sports, other than outside team sports (mentioned in Phase 6) are not even mentioned.

However, studies from other countries show that gymnastics is one of the least risky sports, due, among other things, to the ability to maintain distance. It is for this reason that Gymnastics Quebec, as well as other low-risk sports groups, will soon organize a huge petition in collaboration with many media.

THIS IS WHY, WE NEED YOU!

We will therefore need you, dear gymnasts, parents, coaches! We want to make a difference and show our government that our recovery plan is one of the best and that we want to be judged differently and independently!

It is by taking several actions and by being in solidarity with the gymnastic community that we will be able to return to training!

We hope to count on you in the coming days to participate in this vast campaign by signing the petition.

SUMMER DAY CAMP

Kids can have fun at Gymini Day Camp this summer!

We are currently working on the preparation of procedures and regulations in order to comply with all the requirements of the Public Health Department, the CNESST and the Association des camps du Québec.

In order to comply with government measures, we have halved the number of places available.

In addition, it should be noted that without the agreement of the government, no acrobatic activity (gymnastics, parkour, cheerleading) can take place in our gymnasium. Our animators are still passionate and they will try to instill their passion in the outdoor activities of your children! The situation is changing rapidly, a favorable government announcement could of course allow us to keep the activities going.

We are a non-profit organization anchored in Vaudreuil-Soulanges since 1978. We have passed through several situations over the past 40 years, notably a fire in 1982 which damaged the equipment. It was thanks to the generosity and dedication of the community, parents, coaches and gymnasts that the Club was able to overcome this situation at the time.

In these times of crisis, we will still need everyone’s help. COVID-19 will have significant impacts on the Club. Revenue losses are estimated at $ 22,000. The situation is difficult for everyone: if you are unable to make a donation, the simple act of keeping your credit for the year 2020-2021 and continuing to live your passion will help the Club get through this crisis with less difficulty.
