Vaudreuil-Dorion – The Rebels and Knights teams of the G-Force Cheerleading Association, members of the great Gymini family of Vaudreuil-Dorion, participated in the first competition of the year: Adrénaline – Break the Ice, an organized competition by Les Productions Sapphire at the Claude-Robillard Center last weekend.
The Rebels team, coached by Elisabeth Quesnel and Justine Laprise, won first place in the Open-Coed level 4.0 category. The athletes delivered a great performance, demonstrating strength and originality. This team only trained 2.5 hours per week, but we were able to demonstrate a very high level of difficulty with so little training time. On December 9, the team will be competing again and it promises to be explosive.
Team Knigths is the very first level 5 team in the G-Force association. This team brings together 15 teenage girls full of will and perseverance. They participated in their very first qualifying competition for the world championships.
They delivered two excellent performances, and they managed to keep a great attitude and not break under pressure.
There is still work to be done on the last section of the choreography, but with the will of its athletes the future promises to be flourishing.
Cheerleading is a mixed sporting discipline that was demonstrated at the 2018 Olympic Games. Cheerleading develops flexibility, strength, coordination, teamwork, perseverance and self-confidence.
Today, cheerleading consists of a mixture of acrobatics, floor gymnastics, dance and jumps, all set to dynamic music. The acrobatics part consists of the execution of human pyramids. The gymnastics part covers the main movements and sequences of floor gymnastics (tumbling). The G-Force association is the cheerleading section of Club Gymini. G-Force offers recreational, pre-competitive and competitive teams! For more information, do not hesitate to contact gforce.cheer@clubgymini.org .
